Silly Man!
Next I guess he will organise a protection zone for those dear little Foxes who not only attack people but more importantly chickens, which after a visit from a fox leaves the carcase's in a terrible mess and those that survive in a pretty poor way both physicaly and mentally.

Yes, you care about the chickens so much, you don't mind them being raised to be killed so you can have kfc, or an omelette or two. Faux caring in the name of vilifying an animal is disturbing. Again, foxes get the blame for farmers who lack the ability to keep their chickens in secure fox proof pens. But that surpassed your lack of ability to think past your own arrogance, right?

Farmers think only of money and do not care what suffering their 'stock' gets. If they understood the countryside, they'd let foxes alone as foxes control rabbit and rodent populations, who in turn annoy vegetable farmers. But alas, humans insist on playing god and in turn messing up ecosystems to the point of no repair. And people wonder why the world is going to pot? Because of HUMANS. We are an arrogant, vile species who destroy anything in our path that we don't like. We are the ones who should be culled, not badgers, foxes, or any other non-human animal.

Typical silly, blinkered and hysterical view, which turns people away from the vital work being done on animal welfare.

Farmers understand one thing better than anyone, and that is how to raise and tend healthy animals, vital for the feeding of the ever expanding human species. In the same way that arable and vegetable farmers can be trusted to raise healthy produce at the best price for a hungry nation, so can livestock farmers.

If as you believe they are only in it for the cash, tell me how an animal that has been poorly treated, or becomes sick or dies having been purchased, fed, watered and tended for part of it's life will help the farmer turn a profit. It is in his best interest to have all his stock as healthy and happy as possible.

Maybe Dr May would welcome my input on coiffure, electric guitaring and noise abatement, I am sure he would be very open to my ideas.

Never been to a battery farm, have you? Or Factory farm. People want cheap meat, they'll get it. Cheap eggs, cheap milk, etc, they'll get it. Did the latest horse fiasco teach you nothing? Is that why the farmers regularly break the five freedoms and don't want to vaccinate their cows? I know more about animal welfare than any farmer, and I live in a town. Why do I know this? Because I don't see animals as cash machines like farmers do. Especially dairy farmers who are some of the worst for animal abuse. Taking a baby from it's mother within 24hrs of birth is barbaric and causes so much stress and anguish for both baby and mother. Anyone who supports that and the other horrible abuses in the dairy industry should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm sure Brian means well and has named the true culprit of the disease as DAIRY FARMERS but experimenting with vaccines?? You might as well shoot all the badgers as use them as vivisection 'guinea pigs' . Doesn't he know that cattle are already 'vaccinated'? Doesn't he know that TB is not a disease one can become immune from or they would have had a vaccine for it in humans already. It is a disease of malnutrition and poverty!! It's called better welfare, but then, dairy farmers don't know much about how to do that, do they? After all, they take calves away from mothers after 24hrs and either shoot the males on site or ship them off for veal to die within a few months time. Then he denies the females their entitled milk and keeps them away from their mothers. If that's not an abuse of some of the five freedoms then I don't know what is.

Farmers need to put up and shut up. They only have themselves to blame. Vaccinate your cows, look after them properly, or don't bother farming at all and stop complaining. The latter is preferable. We don't need murdered cows as well as murdered wildlife.

A Message to Britain

Why oh why do you continue to support modern day hitmen? Gone have the days of fighting for our country. These modern wars do not make heroes out of anybody. They just make cowardly individuals who are murdering for a pay check. Then you go and condemn those who retaliate on behalf of the invaded nations? What is it with you people, of UK? The recent death of the suggested soldier is nothing special other than it highlights the hypocrisy this nations fuels. We bemoan if another country retaliates but praise our own who put the fuel to the fire, so to speak. Those men and women on the current front line are not fighting for your freedoms. The war on terror is little more than an attempt to put a boogeyman at the edge of everyone's minds every time they see a person of a particular race. It also aids those in power to create more and more intrusive laws, as well as make it easier for them to control their populace. Whilst all your heads are turned towards 'terror attacks', legislation and other sneaky goings on are swifted through with little news coverage.

Also, for those demanding a state funeral? Why? What has one murdered man done that is so special to deserve further tax payer money to be wasted? He joined a corrupt and killing team in the name of oil and other government wants. That's not special. He died in a bloody manner. All the victims of our troops trigger presses died in a bloody manner too. Then there are all the other brutal murders in our country. Why no call for state funerals for them? It's silly, especially when we are facing cuts on our front line services.

No man or woman is above the other. All are equal, be they man, woman, old or young...and dare I say it, a different species. We should not put those who get paid to kill in illegal wars, on a pedestal. It further fuels the hatred of our victims and leads to the attacks on our people you so decry to be 'terrorism'. The West has decimated thousands more people in the countries it has invaded, than all of our supposed 'victims' of 'terrorists' put together.

Wake up. Take those rose tinted glasses off. We are not any more special than the sikh, the muslim, and so on in those other countries, and we certainly are not going to impress upon them superior ideals by waging war; particularly on the civilians. If you want to help those who need help, do so with words and aids (directly to the recipient; not through the corrupt dictator), not guns and ammunition.

No such thing as a 'responsible breeder'.

It annoys and pisses me off greatly when I see pro-adoption people talk about 'responsible breeders'. There is no such thing as a 'responsible' breeder.

Why? You might be thinking. Because all breeders add to the problem and do not subtract from the problem.

Here is an example.

Breeder A breeds a dog. Said dog has 5 puppies.
Rescue Centre B has 5 dogs, varying ages.

Breeder A sells the 5 puppies to 5 homes.
Rescue Centre B has no homes for those 5 dogs of varying ages.

Why does rescue centre b still have no homes? Because they were taken up by the puppies that were sold by breeder A. It's basic maths. The more bred dogs/cats/rabbits/etc in homes, the less homes there are for rescue animals. So, therein lies the problem. Some of these rescued animals end up being put to sleep for no other reason than their alloted 'find a home' time is up. Thankfully, a lot of the big shelters in the UK are 'no-kill' shelters (where they do not perform euthanasia on unwanted animals). However, there are still some that are. Wood Green, RSPCA, Battersea. And the kill shelters are more prevalent in America.

Simply put, breeding ANY domesticated animal that is so numerous that a healthy adoptable one is put down in their thousands every year, is entirely irresponsible. We do not NEED more cats, dogs, rabbits etc. There are plenty sitting in shelters waiting for forever homes already. So do the right thing. Adopt. Never buy.

The phrase is:

Don't sell and buy whilst shelter animals die.

This includes those sold in pet stores - of which for the most part, are mass bred in warehouses and then in tiny enclosures within the stores. Pets At Home, Jollyes. Both guilty as charged. And it does not help that small enclosures are sold as though they are adequate for any animal. The people that staff these places may know basic care, but are far from knowledgeable on any animals full needs. They cannot even guarantee the sex of most of the animals they sell. Partly because they sell babies - many of these animals are far to young to be away from mother, but babies is what gets the money rolling in. Also, there is no home check either. So a poor rabbit may end up in a home with a dog that sees rabbit as a tasty morsel, and not a new friend. Plus many other things needed to take into account when re-homing an animal.

So, basically, any store or breeder selling animals is not doing the animals a favour. Especially since the main aim is to make a profit. When you treat an animal as a money making machine, any respect or care for the animal often goes out the window. That's why there are so many puppy farms, and warehouse breeding of pet shop animals (including ones sold in garden centres).

An animal is not a thing to be bartered and sold. It is a living, breathing being that requires a life commitment. So please, spay and neuter your pets, adopt from a shelter (even if it means several hours drive) and don't perpetuate the myth of a 'responsible breeder'.

I personally don't know much about her other than she is a tory, so probably a complete asshole of a politician...and no doubt believed in the mantra of making the rich richer, and the poor poorer like our current tosspot, Cameron.

That said, the one thing annoying me about this whole thing is people are using the ending of free milk in schools for certain age groups as one of the 'bad' things she did. As usual, this reeks of dairy lobby brainwashing about milk supposedly being good for us.

Fact of the matter is, taking free milk away from schools was probably one of the only good things she did in her life. If you think a child should be consuming milk for health reasons...you're dead wrong - to the point of osteoporosis wrong. I see it everywhere; people so dumbfounded and brainwashed by the dairy lobby, they don't even understand where milk comes from and how it's made. Yes, there are people who think 'cows just eat grass and make milk'. They do not stop and think for one minute that, as a mammal (like humans), the cow has to be pregnant in order to lactate. Yes, milk is a cow's lactations. Just like ferret milk is a ferret lactation, goats milk...and you get the idea. And what is milk intended for? Babies! That is, the babies of the species the milk is coming from. Cows milk for calves, goats milks for kids (baby goats, not human children), human milk for human babies. This is how mammals feed their young in the early stages of life, and how the young receive all the necessary antibodies for their body. The first milk any baby animal or human drinks is colostrum. This is the most important of all milk suckled. Unfortunately, some animals do not even get this.

Calves are torn from them mothers within 24 hours or less just so the farmer can have his milk to sell. The females will be fed on powdered milk - yes, they get the crappy man made stuff, whilst we steal what is rightfully theirs. Males will be shot on sight, or if the farmer can make any money from it, sent for veal. Veal is where male calves are fed an iron deficient diet to make them anaemic. It is considered a delicacy. These calves, also, on most veal farms are crated and tied to one end of the crate via a rope attached to the neck.

Female calves become herd replacers. And do you know what happens when their mothers don't produce the required amount of milk the farmer expects? She ends up at the slaughter house too. Those cheap burgers, pies, etc. She is probably in one of those. A mother, a mammal, a living breathing being. Not content on causing them incredible emotional distress from calf snatching, farmers milk them for all their worth with mechanical pumps - which contrary to popular belief, are nothing like the soft suckling of a calf. Then she may be chained at the legs if she begins to buckle underneath the weight of her udder (some cows are so over bred or had genes meddled with to cause bigger milk yields have bodies that can't handle it). Lastly she gets to hear the cries of her herd mates as they go through the slaughter house system in a quick and timely fashion. You've been told it's humane, clean, best way to do it, right? More agri lies. If you ever get undercover footage of a slaughterhouse you'll see this is not the case. Time is money, so minimal checks to no checks will be made to make sure any stunning has occurred properly. So often the cows (and most other animals) bleed out from the slice to the jugular. They literally bleed to death whilst hanging upside down by one leg on a chain linked to a conveyor belt. Humane? No. Clean? No. The Best? No.

And you know what? There is absolutely no need for any of this, let alone other meats or animal excretions in our diets. Most of the world is lactose intolerant. We certainly weren't consuming milk when we went 'ug'. Milk is for babies. Not for any other species. We are the only species to steal and consume the milk of another species. If that's not a clue as to it being wrong, I don't know what is. And you know what's funny? The pro-dairy people try to counter that claim by showing pictures of tigers suckling pigs and what not. Guess what? Those are human created interactions. You'd be hard pressed to find it in the wild. Plus they are also babies! All babies need a mother's milk. But not another species milk unless there is a dire need in the wild and one species goes against the norm and adopts a baby of another species. But again, these instances are rare and do not in anyway show we should consume milk, let alone enslave cows, take away their young and then kill the mothers. Even animals in the wild who do those rare scenarios do not do this! Plus appealing to nature always ends up as a fallacious argument since one can say that if we are to copy nature then we would allow such things such as infanticide based on territory and mating habits. And it can also be easily said about herbivores existing, so vegans can use that too.

If you're going to make a solid argument, don't use something that can be spun around and thrown back at you.

Anyways, I've gone on a bit and strayed from the original point.

I don't care if people want to celebrate the death of ole' maggie. I don't care if they dance on her grave. The whole respect the dead crap is just that, a pile of crap. The dead can't care. To be honest, I have no problem with this statement. It's no different to those who put down animals due to not finding homes or lack of money etc. Just the usual hypocrites crying 'cruel, evil man'. At least he is being honest.

And to be honest, if a parent knows their baby is going to be disabled before it's even born, I think they should be guilty of child cruelty for letting said child be born into a world where they are going to have a poor quality of life.

Do not bare children you know will not be able to have a good quality of life. Do not bare more than two children. Do not bare children if you can successfully adopt. If you cannot physically have children, do not attempt to get IVF on the NHS. Having children is a lifestyle choice. Not a right.

Another who has no idea of circumstances. The horse was wild, and aggressive anyway and did not like me giving a carrot to his herd mate, go figure. The lemming did not want me tampering with his envrionment (cleaning out at college), the dog was a dog that had been abused and I was attempting to muzzle him so I could take him safely to a rescue place. It's nothing to do with not knowing about animals, it's to do with circumstances. Did I get upset and angry at all those animals for biting me? No, because I know it is my fault. I upset them in some manner. And that's that. I'm not like other arrogant humans who think any animal that bites them must be 'evil'.

So, lesson is, boys and girls; stop being so emotive over a decade old act of retaliation and use that brain you were born with to anoint logic and reason as to why these things happen. But I guess I am asking to much of the general public. After all. Their intelligence levels are quite atrocious. And yet they claim to be the smartest species on the planet? Pah! You have all year and all your life to ‘give thanks’. The reality of the ‘history’ is not the fairy tale people have come to believe. It also means that genocide occurs for turkeys too. People should be educated on what these holidays are really about. It’s a shame USA has such a stark record of changing it’s history to suit it’s own agenda 

I am glad we do not have this holiday in the UK. Enough turkeys suffer due to the Christmas holiday. In the USA they will suffer twice as much.

After all, Romney would've ostracised women who seeked abortions by allowing states to choose their own abortion laws, and cutting funding to Planned Parenthood who help mothers make decisions and give advice and referrals. Then there is his anti-gay marriage stance. And his typical of conservatism attitude towards the poor - thinking they need no help or safety net whilst he helps his rich pals along (a bit like Cameron and the Tories in the UK). He also tied his dogs crate to the top of his car for a 12 hour trip! So he clearly is no friend of animals either.

Basically, unless you were well off and male, you would've gotten kicked in the proverbial nuts by Romney. I'm actually surprised the bigots got out-voted. Every time I see documentaries on the USA, the bigotry, racism, misogyny, speciesism etc is viral.

I also hope Obama does something about this ignorant view that people have a right to use guns on whatever or whomever they choose. I may be a misanthropist, but I think a human should be killed when they DESERVE it. Not for simply trying to break into a property un-armed. Admittedly, most humans deserve it for simply consuming animal products, but that must be the reason for death, not petty stealing. Hell, those crazy ass gun touters even shoot dead people who are just on the grass of their property, it's crazy! The American constitution was written in a by-gone age where weapons were not very powerful and were simply to defend oneself from a corrupt government. Today this is pointless as the government of the USA has WMDS, that will obliterate any resistance from the general public. So the right to bare arms is not a valid excuse for pointing a lethal weapon at an animal or human.

I notice those with children can't handle the reality that those without do not like having to deal with the noise and nuisance they create. Nor do they realise that having children just means more mouths to feed and more to take take take from the planet. You want a child? Adopt, but by god, don't let it scream or run around like a loon near me, or will get told off if I'm in a very bad mood, or the parent will. We dog 'owners' have to keep our dogs under control in public spaces, the same should apply to children who can be just as unruly and get under foot and run out into traffic.

 Also, young mothers wonder why boys do a scarpa? Men mature later than women. Young mums have a higher chance of being single mums due to the immaturity of the partner. Fact of life. The best setting for a child is a couple who are either receiving one or two incomes - and they must be stable incomes. A child is expensive. Stop expecting the government to pay for your children. I don't get extra benefits because I have animals (who were actually in need of homes and not born by me to create surplus need), so why should one get benefits for continous breeding without a care for the effect on other people and animals and the planet? We are the most destructive species on this planet, and the most over populated in terms of predator prey relationships. We don't need more of us running around, creating a demand for cheap animal products and such like. We need to stop this over breeding. We spay and neuter animals who are ending up euthanised due to overpopulation, so why not ourselves? A choice is not a choice when it impedes on the rights of others.

 Afterthought: It's so sad that supposed adults throw their toys out of the pram when the facts of what is happening is shown to them (these people act more childish than their own children - I feel the children have no chance if this is what the parents behave like). If you don't like what I have to say, tough. Free speech bitches. If you decided to breed into an already over populated world, please do us all a favour and keep your 'little darlings' under control. If you cannot, you should not have bred. I do not want to hear a screaming child in a supermarket or shop. Hell I do not want to hear them anywhere. Put a bloody dummy in it's mouth. I do not want children running at me or running around. That's what playgrounds and your own private property are for. Not doctor's waiting rooms, supermarkets, or streets. Put a leash on them if must be. I had when I was a toddler and it did me no damn harm. Lastly, if you do feel the need to add to the ever growing number of humans fighting over limited resources, at least be considerate and get the snip after number 1; number 2 is pushing it. If you want more, adopt. Plenty of orphanages full of children needing homes. That is all.

Zoos.

I had to a debate on zoos in college. Here is my side of the debate that I wrote up. It is incredibly hard to ‘conserve’ a species in an artificial environment, especially as the artificial environment and the animals themselves were originally intended for human entertainment. The environment is rarely simultaneous to that of the species natural environment and that most successfully conservation projects occur only in a secluded section of the original natural habitat, or in countries where the climate is appropriate for the animal. It is also a fallacy that the majority of British zoos, let alone zoos worldwide, partake in conservation. Only around 5% of around 400 British zoos actually hold species that are endangered. It is estimated that only 3% of this 5% are actually involved in official breeding programmes. Of around 10,000 zoos worldwide, only around 500 or less of these zoos hold endangered species in their collections. Also, of the estimated 6,000 species that are classified as threatened or endangered only about 120 are in captive breeding programmes, and only 16 species have ever been returned to the wild with varying degrees of success.

Do you think that zoos are beneficial to the survival of endangered species?

No, as stated beforehand, there has been little to no success in conservation programmes based in zoos. Also, as conservation is a word that ultimately makes any paying customer think that a zoo is partaking in a selfless act, many zoos may claim to partake in such but actually don’t. Captive-bred animals often lack survival skills, especially those normally learned from a parent - finding food, avoiding predators, etc. Some reintroduction projects have had to be suspended indefinitely. Releases of captive animals also pose a significant disease threat to native populations. In some cases reintroductions have been cancelled after discovering viruses in captive-bred populations that were due to be released in areas where the virus was unknown; in others, native animals have died because of viruses spread by introduced animals. Zoos still take animals from the wild. Throughout the 1990s over 1,000 elephants were taken from the wild and sold to zoos and circuses, and over 70% of elephants in European zoos today were wild-caught. How can zoos help if they are indeed a part of the problem?

Do zoos consider the welfare of the animals during conservation efforts? 

As zoos are a predominately Victorian concept which merely consisted of “zoological gardens” in which the public could merely see animals of an exotic nature whilst not being in any danger themselves – the animals interests were not considered then. And as these zoological gardens were built in small areas with little room for expansion (i.e. London zoo) it is impossible for a lot of zoos to even begin to provide the space and enrichment needed to maintain healthy animals, let alone allow them to breed successfully. There have even been studies where the results have shown only 10% of the species studied had enclosure sizes similar to their minimum home range. 22% of all species in the study were kept in zoo enclosures on average 1,000 times smaller than their minimum home range. These include Asian elephant, chimpanzee, and giraffe and Californian sea lion. If we can’t even provide space adequate for the species, how are we expected to successfully maintain a breeding programme where the requirements of the offspring and parents are met fully?

Do you believe that zoos are beneficial to the public or do you think that zoos could operate in a more private manner?

 Overall, Zoos do not educate the public. They misinform the public about conservation and, as if that was not enough, they divert funds from actual conservation to waste on imprisoning sentient beings for the entertainment of the public- whilst animals remain endangered and are even driven to extinction. Despite their professed concern for animals, zoos remain more "collections" of interesting "items" than actual havens or simulated habitats. Zoos teach people that it is acceptable to keep animals in captivity, bored, cramped, lonely, and far from their natural homes.

Do you think that helping animals back from the brink of extinction is a good thing or do you think that we humans should allow nature to takes its course?

 With regards to animals whom have become endangered to human error (i.e. hunting species to an endangered status), we feel it is necessary for us to bring them back up to a steady population. However, this needs to be done sensibly and requires that all the needs are species are met to as much as possible. This includes not sticking them in a country with an environment and climate that greatly differs to their native environment and climate.

Do you think it is right that some zoos believe that euthanasia is the answer to surplus animals that are not endangered?

No, as euthanasia is not the answer. If you keep an animal in a captive environment you are responsible for any potential offspring that may occur. It is not fair on the offspring to have their lives taken away merely because the human chose to place their ancestors in a confined environment that cannot meet the needs of one member of the species, let alone several. If you are going to keep an animal that has the potential to breed, but you don’t have the space for the offspring or know of any potential homes for any offspring then you should make sure that the animal cannot breed. One small operation (spay/neuter) can protect potential suffering of hundreds to thousands of animals. In the past, British zoos have sold surplus animals to vivisection laboratories and exotic meat farms. Animals are now more likely to be sold into the pet trade, and British zoos buy and sell animals with wildlife dealers around the world. Would those who are really interested in the health and conservation of a species do this?

"Animals are killed in crop harvesting"...

This is a common excuse used by meat eaters to try and make vegans out to be hypocrites, or something like that...however what they fail to realise is:

- Crops harvested for humans are also harvested for animal consumption which humans then eat. - Animals; well the majority of; seem to have a sense of when danger is coming. They are usually the first to scarper when a Tsunami/Earthquake/Tornado is heading their way. Plus I'm sure it's pretty easy to notice a loud vibrating machine coming your way, be you animal or human!
 - Many crops; especially fruit and certain vegetables; are harvested by hand. And some farmers still harvest all their crops by hand.
 - There are plenty of devices to add to machines/vehicles to ward off wild animals, particularly this device called "Animal Lover" - http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/the-animal-lover-car-whistle. I personally know someone who has this.

Why I Hate The Army And It's Sympathisers

6 men died in blast in Afghanistan...cue "RIP", "They were brave heroes" etc.

Yet when Azhar Ahmed calls out the gross bias towards British soldier death by the media over those that the British soldiers kill he is vilified and charged by the police.

People who get offended by someone saying the truth plus their own thoughts that soldiers should die for doing atrocious acts need to grow a backbone. Having an opinion is not a criminal offence and if you get upset by it...click the little x button on your browser window.

As for soldiers being heroes. No, they are not and never will be. Pulling the trigger to end the life of ANYONE based on the silly belief that the opposition is a threat to your country. Just because you pull the trigger in another country, in a uniform, doesn't mean you are not guilty of murder.

Sympathising with paid murderers just makes you look foolish and a supporter of war and murder. These men and women do not deserve these elaborated send offs. They deserve a simple funeral service for close family and friends just like everyone else. That is all.

There is nothing heroic or brave about being a hired hitman for the government.

The Justice System, Oh How I Loathe Thee

Usually human death and suffering doesn't phase me as I watch quite a few documentaries on crime, murder, etc and I also watch real life gore vids as death interests me. However this documentary has got me crying, mainly at how sickening humans are and how pathetic the UK justice system is. A lad got 5 years because the court decided he 'accidentally' stabbed someone who was trying to stop a fight. HOW CAN YOU FUCKING ACCIDENTALLY STAB SOMEONE!? It's ridiculous. And another young lad was stabbed because he called another a 'pussy'.

It just disgusts me how vile and putrid humans are...if you're going to go all out and murder someone, have a legitimate reason! Jesus christ. I hate humanity so much.

Caring is wrong...

According to some. Apparently it's wrong to have the view that people should spend enough to live comfortably and spend the rest of their money helping others. Apparently it's ok for rich people to waste money on holiday homes, second homes, staff, etc, whilst the rest of us struggle to pay bills.

I'm also a communist according to some. Funny thing is, communism is a great idea, just hasn't been implemented well due to the corruption of those trying ot implement it. Everyone being equal and having equal share is an admirable thing. Not sure why people can't see that.
